ZGC Global High-Level Think Tank Alliance held the council meeting and the second session of the first conference of council chairs

On September 23, 2021, ZGC Global High-Level Think Tank Alliance held the council meeting and the second session of the first conference of council chairs. The meeting was sponsored by ZGC Global High-Level Think Tank Alliance (hereinafter referred to as the "Think Tank Alliance"). It was organized by the "Belt and Road" International Science and Technology Cooperation Training Center of the BJAST. Representatives from 41 council members of the Think Tank Alliance from 8 countries and regions including Germany, France, South Korea, Malaysia, the United States, Japan, Serbia, and China attended the meeting. For the prevention of COVID-19, it was held online and with simultaneous interpretation in Chinese and English throughout the whole meeting. Secretary-General of the Think Tank Alliance, director of the Center for International and Regional Cooperation of the BJAST, and the head of "Belt and Road" International Science and Technology Cooperation Training Center presided over the meeting.

Li Junkai, Secretary-General of the Think Tank Alliance, gave a report on 2021 Annual Work Summary and 2022 Annual Work Plan of the Think Tank Alliance. She introduced the alliance's extensive and fruitful work in establishing publicity and services platforms and gathering high-level talents, as well as the work on the cooperation model in a coordinated way among enterprises, universities and research institutions. In 2022, the alliance would be committed to building a one-stop comprehensive service platform, launching brand service activities, organizing high-level joint research, exploring the sustainable development path of the alliance, and enhancing the comprehensive influence of the alliance, so as to promote the development of the alliance. 

At the meeting, in accordance with the relevant provisions of the constitution of the alliance, the candidate council members and candidate vice council chairs were elected by vote and deliberated. After the vote, the following 23 institutions became the council members of the alliance: Fangdi Think Tank, European Virtual Institute for Integrated Risk Management (EU-VRi), INERIS ( French National Institute for Industrial Environment and Risks), Capital Institute of Science and Technology Development Strategy (CISTDS), Qinghai Academy of Social Science, etc. After deliberation at the chairman's meeting, the following institutions were elected as the vice council chairs: the Center for China and Globalization(CCG), Springer Nature Group, and the Institute of Science and Development of Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Subsequently, the members of the Think Tank Alliance put forward suggestions and had discussions on the "2022 work plan of the Think Tank Alliance. The following representatives gave many constructive ideas: wang Yue, Executive Secretary-General of Pangoal Institution, Nenad D. Filipovic, president of University of Kragujevac of Serbia, Gan Chunhui, Vice President of Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, Yang Rui, Vice President of China Institute for Reform and Development, Bi Haibin, Vice President of National Academy of Innovation Strategy, Liu Dongmei, Vice President of Chinese Academy of Science and Technology for Development, Fu Yiming, Assistant President of China Information Security Research Institute, Ren Xinjian, Chairman of Hualue Think Tank and other representatives. Therefore, they put forward suggestions for the future development of the alliance. 

Finally, Zheng Huanmin delivered a closing speech. He extended warm congratulations to the newly elected vice council chairs and council members. He pointed out that through consultation, co-construction, and sharing among council members, the circle of friends of the Think Tank Alliance has been getting larger, the quality of cooperation has been getting higher, and the development prospects have been getting better. It will certainly make greater contributions to the construction of a win-win domestic and international cooperation and an open and scientific system.
